“Wow, absolutely incredible replacement”- Tottenham already finalize talk to land HIGHLY-RATED La Liga wide BEAST as club key star’s replacement
Tottenham are reportedly targeting Andrei Ratiu as a potential replacement for Pedro Porro, with plans to make a move for the Rayo Vallecano full-back in the upcoming January transfer window.
According to Fichajes, Spurs have ramped up their interest in Ratiu, who has been impressing in La Liga since joining Rayo Vallecano in 2023. The Romanian’s form has caught the attention of top English clubs, and Tottenham are keen to secure his services.
Ratiu, valued at €25 million due to a release clause in his contract, could be available for a lower price, as Vallecano is reportedly open to negotiating a deal. Tottenham see Ratiu as a potential long-term replacement for Porro, though they may have other options in mind as well.
Meanwhile, Real Madrid have shown interest in Porro, although they view him as a backup option behind primary target Trent Alexander-Arnold. Manchester City are also monitoring the Spurs right-back, but any potential sale to a local rival would likely come at a premium. Despite the interest, Tottenham are unlikely to let Porro leave in January, as he remains a key player for manager Ange Postecoglou’s plans in their push for a top-four finish. If Ratiu does join in January, it is expected that he would take time to adapt before potentially replacing Porro in the summer.
Although Real Madrid’s interest in Porro remains, they may be able to strike a deal for a lower fee than the £80 million price tag Tottenham has set. With Manchester City also in the mix, the situation remains fluid, but a January departure for Porro seems unlikely at this stage.
