Ahead of the match, Williams had spoken highly of Leeds, praising Daniel Farke’s side and predicting they would finish in the top two. “We tried to establish ourselves in the game, but they don’t make many mistakes, and we paid the price. The goals were not offside, so I’m not frustrated by that. This is the best team in the division, and to score against them as we did is a real positive. Now, we have to focus on winning more games. Not all teams are at that level. Results will come, I have no doubt about that.”
Leeds’ victory also helped to address some of the criticisms about the team’s style of play under Farke. One of the main complaints this season has been the lack of entertainment in their football, but this match showed a different side to the team. With Swansea pushing higher up the pitch, Leeds had more opportunities to break through and score, with James and Solomon exploiting the spaces behind Swansea’s defense.
