“I will…”- Rodrigo Gomes makes heartfelt promise to Wolves fans after returning to starting XI vs Fulham
Rodrigo Gomes, a summer signing for Wolves, made his return to the starting lineup in the team’s 4-1 victory over Fulham at Craven Cottage.
The win marked a memorable afternoon for the Midlands club, as they secured their first Premier League away win in nine months, while also achieving back-to-back league victories for the first time in the 2024/25 season.
While Matheus Cunha was the standout performer, several players had notable contributions in the win. We came into this game wanting to win, and it feels great for us. Now, we’ll enjoy the victory, rest, and get ready for Bournemouth to win again,” he said in an interview with Wolves’ media team.
Following his second Premier League start, Gomes made a promise to the club’s fans, showcasing his humble and determined character: “It’s very good for me; it’s a pleasure to play here for Wolves in the Premier League. I’ll give everything every game, whether I play 90 minutes or five minutes, I’ll do everything I can to help the team.”
Gomes’ performance against Fulham was particularly impressive, given the challenging nature of the venue. The young winger showed his ability to rise to the occasion, working hard on the flank when resources were stretched in Gary O’Neil’s squad. Though still raw and lacking match experience, Gomes handled the pressure well, as reflected in his solid performance statistics.
