Steve Cooper became the second Premier League manager to lose his job this season when Leicester City dismissed him on Sunday.

During a discussion on the Kelly and Wrighty Show, journalist Darren Lewis revealed that Cooper had requested two first-team signings for January before his departure. However, he was told that those requests would not be fulfilled. According to Lewis, Cooper’s plea was for two established players to strengthen the squad, but he wasn’t going to get them. The team’s poor performance and player discontent were also factors leading to his dismissal.
Now that Cooper has left, Leicester must find a replacement. Graham Potter has been linked to the job, and he is reportedly eager to return to the Premier League. Other potential candidates include experienced managers like Rafa Benitez, Ruud van Nistelrooy (who recently departed Manchester United), and even Jose Mourinho, who is considering a return to England in the future.
Leicester is a club with a rich history and high ambitions, so they could look to appoint a big-name manager to steer the team back towards the top half of the Premier League, aiming to revive the success they experienced in the late 2010s.
