“It never felt like there was a connection between Julen Lopetegui and West Ham fans from the start but at it stand”- Chris Sutton Reveals SHOCKING Verdict on whether West Ham should fire Julen Lopetegui after Leicester Loss!”

Following their disappointing 3-1 defeat to Leicester City, West Ham United now find themselves just two points ahead of Ruud van Nistelrooy’s team, sitting in 14th place.

Julen Lopetegui’s tenure in East London has been a struggle, with West Ham regressing compared to their time under David Moyes. Despite backing from Tim Steidten in the summer, including the signing of Max Kilman from Wolverhampton Wanderers, the heavy investment has yet to yield results. The club has lost seven of their 14 Premier League games under Lopetegui.

Chris Sutton shared his thoughts on Lopetegui’s struggles on BBC Radio 5 following West Ham’s defeat to Leicester. Sutton argued that Lopetegui never seemed like the right fit for the club, even before the current poor form. He said, “It never felt like there was a connection between Lopetegui and the West Ham fans. They wanted a change in style from Moyes, but anyone who has watched Lopetegui’s teams over the years would have known his approach wouldn’t differ much from Moyes’.”

Sutton also noted the ongoing rumors about Lopetegui’s future, suggesting the West Ham board may already be considering a replacement. “There have been too many stories in recent weeks for me to ignore. I believe they are seriously starting to look at what might come next,” he added.

One potential replacement is Sergio Conceicao, a manager already well-regarded by West Ham’s leadership.

The issues at West Ham also point to the summer transfer window, where some signings, like Guido Rodriguez, appear to have been poor choices. The club has since reverted to relying on players like Tomas Soucek. Rodriguez’s agents have even discussed his future, hinting he may look for a new challenge.

With tensions mounting at the London Stadium, it may be time for West Ham to consider another fresh start.
