“Don’t get me wrong, with the passing and movement they have i can’t see anything but a win for them here”- Paul Merson STUNS fans with SHOCKING Leicester survival claim ahead of Brighton clash. You won’t believe his Prediction
Leicester City will return to Premier League action on Saturday against Brighton and Hove Albion.
The Foxes made a strong start to the Ruud van Nistelrooy era earlier this week, securing a 3-1 victory over West Ham United. It was an impressive debut for Van Nistelrooy as a manager, with his key selection decisions proving successful.
Following the win, Leicester moved up to 14th in the Premier League table ahead of this weekend’s fixtures. However, they are not yet out of danger in their battle to avoid relegation, and with tough matches against Liverpool and Manchester City coming up in late December, positive results are crucial.
Beating Brighton will be no easy task, though, especially according to Paul Merson’s prediction.
Paul Merson makes Brighton vs Leicester score prediction
Facundo Buonanotte will miss the match for Leicester, as he is unable to play against his parent club. The Argentine has been a key player for Leicester this season, and his absence will significantly weaken their chances against Brighton.
Currently in fifth place, Brighton has been in strong form, and Merson believes they will take all three points at the Amex. Speaking to Sportskeeda, he said: “What a fantastic result for Leicester the other day. How they managed it, I’m not sure! But I don’t think Brighton will be as naive as West Ham.”
With Brighton’s passing and movement, Merson expects them to dominate the match. He added, “Leicester’s win over West Ham has papered over the cracks. Yes, it was a great result, but it might give them a false sense of security. Leicester weren’t even that impressive, and I don’t know how they managed to win 3-1! They certainly got lucky in that match.”
Merson predicts a 3-1 victory for Brighton on Sunday.
Paul Merson makes Leicester City relegation claim
If Leicester does lose to Brighton, they could find themselves pulled back into the relegation battle. Currently, they are four points clear of the drop zone, with teams like Southampton and Wolverhampton Wanderers in even worse form.
When making his score prediction, Merson also voiced concerns about Leicester’s chances of survival, saying, “I’d be shocked if Leicester stay up this season. When they lose, they get completely overwhelmed. That’s their big problem.”
Merson pointed to Leicester’s defeats against Chelsea and Nottingham Forest as evidence of this issue, adding, “Conceding 20 shots in a game and expecting to win every week is unsustainable. Brighton could tear them apart in this match.”
