JUST IN; Paul Merson shocks fanbase with Leicester City relegation claim
Leicester City will return to Premier League action this weekend, facing Brighton & Hove Albion.

Although Leicester City has spent most of the season near the relegation zone, fans are hoping that the appointment of a new manager will spark a turnaround in their fortunes.
Football pundit Paul Merson has backed Brighton to defeat Leicester on Saturday, a result that could push the Foxes back into the relegation battle. Currently in 16th place, Leicester are just four points clear of the drop zone, and a loss could send them spiraling closer to the bottom.
Speaking to Sportskeeda, Merson expressed confidence that Brighton would take all three points at the Amex. He commented, “Leicester’s win the other day was phenomenal, but I don’t know how they pulled it off! I don’t think Brighton will be as naïve as West Ham. With their passing and movement, I can only see a Brighton win here. That victory over West Ham has papered over the cracks at Leicester. It was a great result, but it might give them a false sense of security. Leicester weren’t even that impressive; I don’t know how they managed to win 3-1! They definitely got lucky.”
Merson not only predicted a Brighton win this weekend but also suggested that Leicester could be relegated. He pointed to their defeats to Chelsea and Nottingham Forest as clear indicators of their vulnerabilities.
“The big issue for Leicester is that when they lose, they often get completely blown away,” Merson continued. “This was evident in the games against Chelsea and Nottingham Forest. I’d be shocked if Leicester stay up; I don’t see that happening. Conceding 20 shots per game and winning regularly is unsustainable. Brighton could tear them apart in this match.”
