Charlie McParland, another former Forest figure, also praised Wood’s contributions and work ethic, highlighting his role in the club’s Premier League survival. McParland said: “I’d like to congratulate Chris Wood on breaking Bryan Roy’s record. When he first came in, many fans weren’t sure about him, and Cooper didn’t play him. At 33, Wood continues to deliver goals in the Premier League, making him a valuable asset that many clubs would envy. His goal-scoring ability is crucial in the top flight, and Forest have certainly struck gold with his signing. Despite a slow start, Tyson’s comments about Wood’s treatment under Cooper seem valid, as the striker has thrived under Espirito Santo.
