“I don’t expect”- Richard Keys issues Dyche sack claim at Everton after Premier League development
Richard Keys has expressed concerns about Sean Dyche’s future at Everton, especially in light of the recent dismissals of Russell Martin by Southampton and Gary O’Neil by Wolves. While there is speculation that Dyche could receive a contract extension from the Friedkin Group if Everton performs well this season, Keys is less optimistic.
The beIN Sports presenter, disheartened by the fact that only three out of the Premier League’s six British managers remain in their positions, believes Dyche won’t be at Goodison Park next season. In a recent blog post, Keys remarked, “I hope both O’Neil and Martin find their way back into the game. With Steve Cooper’s earlier sacking, three British coaches are now gone. That leaves only Eddie Howe, Sean Dyche, and Kieran McKenna.”
Dyche’s position at Everton has been a hot topic, as many doubt his ability to lead the team forward. However, recent positive results, including a four-point haul from their last two matches against Wolves and Arsenal, have brought some optimism to Finch Farm. Despite this, Keys predicts that Dyche will not start next season at the helm, adding, “The chances are Howe won’t be at Newcastle either, and it’s risky to suggest Ipswich will stay up.”
Meanwhile, Everton’s impending takeover by TFG is expected to be announced soon, with the new owners likely to make funds available for new signings in the January transfer window. Dyche’s future, though not immediately in jeopardy, will depend on his ability to maintain a comfortable distance from the relegation zone. Although there’s talk that Dan Friedkin could offer Dyche a new contract, his current deal expires at the end of this season, making it possible that Keys’ prediction could come true.
