JustcIn; Marcus Rashford makes bombshell Man United transfer admission amid Newcastle United links

Marcus Rashford has revealed that he is prepared to leave Manchester United. The 27-year-old, who has been linked to a potential move to Newcastle United, has confirmed his desire to depart Old Trafford, especially with reports suggesting the club may look to sell him during the upcoming January transfer window.

Rashford was excluded from Manchester United’s squad for their match against Manchester City on Sunday, a decision made by Ruben Amorim due to his recent performances. It has been reported that United is willing to cash in on Rashford, who has scored only seven goals in 24 appearances this season.

Speaking about his future, Rashford stated, “Personally, I feel ready for a new challenge and the next step,” according to Henry Winter. “When I leave, there will be no hard feelings. You won’t hear any negative comments from me about Manchester United. That’s just who I am.”

He added, “If I know a situation is already difficult, I won’t make it worse. I’ve seen how other players have left in the past, and I don’t want to be that person. When I do leave, I’ll make a statement, and it will come directly from me.”

Newcastle United had previously shown interest in Rashford. Back in 2022, the Magpies were reportedly monitoring his situation following a challenging season under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer and Ralf Rangnick. However, Rashford stayed at United and had a stellar season, scoring 30 goals in 56 appearances.

Recently, Rashford has struggled with form over the past 18 months, leading to speculation about his future. Reports suggest that Manchester United would consider offers around £40 million for him. Newcastle manager Eddie Howe has long been an admirer of Rashford, calling him a “world-class” player in 2023.

Howe remarked at the time, “He’s undoubtedly a very talented player. We know that if he plays, he poses a significant threat. He can cause us problems if we don’t defend well enough. We’ll be aware of him, but if he doesn’t play, they have other players who can do just as good a job.”
