Crystal Palace have several players whose contracts are set to expire next summer, and as many as eight could depart either in January or at the end of the season.
Having gone unbeaten in their last five matches, including draws against high-flying Manchester City and Aston Villa, manager Oliver Glasner’s side appears to have turned a corner in terms of form, with Ismaila Sarr even earning a spot in the Premier League Team of the Week.
Eight Players Could Leave Crystal Palace in 2025
If Palace’s positive run continues, they may be able to retain some of the players at risk of leaving. Here’s a look at those whose futures at Selhurst Park are uncertain:
Jeffrey Schlupp
At nearly 32 years old, it’s unlikely that Palace will extend Schlupp’s one-year deal signed last summer. A reasonable transfer fee could see him leave as soon as January.
Remi Matthews
The goalkeeper has not featured for Palace at all in the 2024/25 season and has seen limited first-team action since joining. With no future at the club, Palace should look to sell while they can.
Tyrick Mitchell
Mitchell’s contract runs out at the end of the 2024/25 season, and although he could begin talks with other clubs in January, Palace have yet to open discussions about extending his deal.
Trevoh Chalobah
Currently on loan from Chelsea until the summer, Chalobah’s future at Palace is uncertain. Whether they decide to activate their option to sign him permanently will depend on his performances and the club’s plans regarding other players like Marc Guehi.
Joel Ward
At 35, Ward has played a limited role this season, making just one appearance in the EFL Cup. He has been on the bench for Premier League games but hasn’t seen any action, so it’s expected that he will leave when his contract expires.
Will Hughes
Despite still being valued by the club, there has been no progress on talks for a contract extension beyond his current one, which runs until June 2025.
Nathaniel Clyne
At 33, Clyne’s best years are behind him. With his contract also expiring, it seems unlikely he will be offered a new deal, with only the most optimistic supporters believing otherwise.
Matt Turner
The backup goalkeeper is expected to return to Nottingham Forest after his loan spell ends, leaving his time at Palace effectively over.
