Newcastle United secured their place in the semi-finals of the League Cup with a dominant 3-1 victory over Brentford at St. James’ Park on Wednesday night.

Tonali’s two goals were not the only highlights of his performance. He also completed 93% of his passes (56 out of 60), helping Newcastle dominate possession. The midfielder won six out of 11 ground duels and made four tackles, showing his effectiveness both on and off the ball.

The 25-year-old, who has scored seven goals and provided four assists in 14 Premier League appearances this season, simply couldn’t find his rhythm on the night. Despite his struggles, Newcastle managed to secure the win, thanks to Tonali’s brilliance.
