A crucial clash awaits as Leicester City take on Wolves in the Premier League in what could be a pivotal match in the relegation battle. Leicester will be eager to recover from their heavy 4-0 loss to Newcastle United last weekend.
Meanwhile, Wolves, currently five points behind the Foxes in 19th place, will look to spark a turnaround under their new manager.
After sacking Gary O’Neil following a 2-1 loss to Ipswich, Wolves moved quickly to hire Vitor Pereira, the Portuguese manager formerly of the Saudi Pro League.
While Pereira may be unfamiliar to many, he could provide the “new manager bounce” that Wolves need to get back on track.
Ahead of the match at the King Power Stadium, Paul Merson has shared his thoughts and prediction for the game.
Paul Merson predicts Leicester City to beat Wolves Leicester head into this match in better form than Wolves, and Merson expects them to claim a narrow 2-1 victory.
Writing for Sportskeeda, the former Arsenal forward believes that the sacking of O’Neil won’t have an immediate positive effect on Wolves, and he predicts Leicester will move eight points ahead of them in the relegation fight.
“This is a cup final, a huge game,” Merson wrote. “Wolves sacked Gary O’Neil before this match, and if they lose to Leicester, they’ll be eight points behind the Foxes, which is a significant advantage for Leicester in the relegation battle.
“If Everton get a result at Arsenal, it’ll show they won’t be relegated this season. I don’t think any of the promoted teams could do that at the Emirates, so it will turn into a four-way fight for survival between Leicester, Ipswich, Southampton, and Wolves.”
Merson also pointed out that Wolves will be without Rayan Ait-Nouri for the match, a blow to their chances. With all the recent turmoil, he doesn’t expect Wolves to win and is backing Leicester to secure an important victory.

Vardy will look to extend his excellent record against Wolves, having scored three goals and provided one assist in his last five appearances against them.
