Chelsea manager Enzo Maresca has hinted at the future of Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall, amid reports linking the midfielder with a return to Leicester City.
Leicester are reportedly interested in bringing the 26-year-old back to the King Power Stadium in January, just six months after selling him to Chelsea for £30 million. However, Dewsbury-Hall’s time at Stamford Bridge has not gone as planned, with only five substitute appearances in the Premier League so far.
A key figure at Leicester, his only starts this season have come in the Europa Conference League and Carabao Cup, including Thursday’s 5-1 win over Shamrock Rovers, where he scored.
After the match, Maresca was asked about Dewsbury-Hall’s future, to which he replied, “Unfortunately, I cannot say that (he is definitely staying), not just about Kiernan but about the entire squad. When the transfer window opens, anything can happen.”
He added, “I’m not focused on January. The only thing I can say about Kiernan is that we are very pleased with the way he’s working, and we’re happy with his performances. That’s my opinion on Kiernan.”
