“Alan Shearer’s Shocking Prediction for Everton vs Chelsea – You Won’t Believe Who He Thinks Will Win
Chelsea will visit Goodison Park this weekend to face rivals Everton in the Premier League.
Having won their last eight matches across all competitions, Chelsea are in strong form and will travel to Merseyside with confidence. A victory on Sunday would temporarily lift Enzo Maresca’s side to the top of the league table.
While Chelsea are being discussed as potential title contenders, Everton find themselves in 16th place, once again battling relegation this season.
Everton manager Sean Dyche has acknowledged Chelsea’s impressive form and praised the impact Maresca has had at Stamford Bridge.
Alan Shearer’s Prediction for Everton vs Chelsea
Alan Shearer predicts Chelsea will secure a win away to Everton but doesn’t believe they will win the title this season.
Speaking to The Metro, Shearer said: “Everton should take confidence from last weekend. Jordan Pickford was outstanding, and the takeover news is great for Everton moving forward, but I don’t think that will have much impact on the pitch.
“Given Chelsea’s current form and the quality of the team Maresca can put out, I expect Chelsea to go to Goodison and take all three points.
“A team sitting in second place and in the form Chelsea are in is certainly in the title race. But I still think they’ll experience a blip, and I’m not sure they’ll stay in second place. That said, they are contenders, and you can’t rule them out. I still don’t think they’ll win it, though. Prediction: Chelsea win.”
Chris Sutton also believes Chelsea will come out on top in their weekend clash. He points to the Blues’ dominant 6-0 victory over Everton last April at Stamford Bridge as further reason for optimism.
Chelsea’s Strong Opportunity Ahead
On paper, Chelsea has an excellent chance to continue their winning streak, with several upcoming matches against teams lower in the league.
Looking at the club’s upcoming fixtures, if Chelsea can navigate this next month successfully, they should remain near the top of the league.
While Maresca is wisely avoiding any talk of the title, it will be interesting to see where Chelsea stand by the end of January.
