Sutton, writing for BBC Sport, believes the game will be a high-scoring affair with Liverpool edging past Spurs. He also reflected on Postecoglou’s remarks about the challenges of management, sharing his own experience from his time as Lincoln manager, and touched on Liverpool’s recent draw with Fulham.
“Tottenham boss Ange Postecoglou said this week that management is harder than being prime minister, and from my time in charge of Lincoln, I can attest to that,” Sutton commented.
“Postecoglou is familiar with the unpredictable nature of managerial life, as Spurs’ season has been full of ups and downs. I think this game could be the same. While Tottenham will have their moments in what promises to be an exciting match, Liverpool won’t back down, and I expect them to come out on top.”
Sutton also emphasized that how Spurs handle Mohamed Salah on the counter-attack will be crucial, but he doesn’t believe they can completely shut him down.
Regarding Liverpool’s recent 2-2 draw with Fulham, Sutton praised their resilience, particularly in playing with 10 men, stating, “I was there, and honestly, the way they played with 10 men was incredible. They looked like the team with the extra man.”
