Huth, a key figure in Leicester’s historic 2015/16 title-winning team, was brought in during the January 2015 transfer window to help with the club’s survival battle. His arrival helped transform Leicester’s defense, and clean sheets were crucial to their success. However, the current team seems unable to replicate this defensive solidity.
After the match, Huth pointed out that Leicester have conceded 14 goals in their last five games, three of which were defeats. The decision to start Danny Ward, instead of Mads Hermansen who was sidelined due to injury, angered Leicester fans, and their frustration was justified as Ward conceded three goals in the first half.
Despite their leaky defense, Leicester are not the worst team in the Premier League in terms of goals conceded. Wolves, their opponents on Sunday, have allowed in 40 goals, the most in the league.
