‘RvN disaster-class’ – Brutal response as Leicester City bounced by Wolves

Leicester City were left frustrated after falling victim to a new manager bounce, as Wolverhampton Wanderers, under their newly-appointed boss Vitor Pereira, secured a 3-0 win at the King Power Stadium.

This was Wolves’ first match since parting ways with Gary O’Neil following four consecutive Premier League losses. Pereira’s debut could not have gone better, with his side taking full advantage of Leicester’s defensive and goalkeeping mistakes, scoring three goals in the first half through Goncalo Guedes, Rodrigo Gomes, and Matheus Cunha.

In an effort to halt the onslaught, Leicester’s manager Ruud van Nistelrooy made several substitutions at halftime, but they failed to alter the game’s outcome or calm the growing frustration among the home supporters.

Leicester fans were quick to express their anger on social media, offering strong opinions on the team’s performance. Some notable comments include:

Scott Bird: “Embarrassing. We have youth players who could have stepped up instead of JJ. Why sub Bilal? Why only give Facu 10 minutes? Shocking today.”

Paul Rodway: “We knew two years ago that the keeper and half of that back four weren’t good enough. Two years later, they’re still starting. Only this club.”

CR5: “Absolutely pathetic from Ruud today. Terrible starting lineup, worse subs, no evidence of coaching or tactics when the opposition has the ball. Fullbacks and midfielders run riot against our exposed defense. A disaster-class.”

Anthony Bennett: “Not blaming Ruud yet, but wow, he got this one wrong. The club is an absolute mess, sort it out!”

JC14: “Huge question marks over the manager! Best player on the bench until the 84th minute.”

Matthew Walne: “Worst performance I’ve seen in a long time.”

Mel Browning: “You can’t play Ward and expect us to do well. Give the youngsters a chance—they have no fear, passion, and can’t be worse.”

Keiran Williams: “I want Ruud to succeed, but his team selections and tactics are questionable. Starting Ayew over Buonanotte and not bringing him on until the 84th minute is baffling.”

Edward Barge: “Several Leicester players should never wear the shirt again. Significant investment is needed in January.”

Jackjeffrey33: “Shambolic. There’s a lot of work to do on and off the pitch. We’re as good as down if nothing changes quickly.”
