“I Would Tell him to join”- Leicester City’s Facundo Buonanotte ENCOURAGES Striker to make January move amid Uncertain future in Spain

Tottenham Hotspur striker Alejo Veliz has spent most of 2024 in Spain. After a loan spell at Sevilla during the second half of last season, he joined Espanyol on a temporary basis this summer. However, neither loan has been particularly successful.

Recently, Veliz has struggled to maintain a place in the Espanyol starting lineup, scoring only once in La Liga and four times in all competitions. With this in mind, Spurs could be considering recalling him, which might lead to a move closer to home.

According to Ole (via CaughtOffside), Leicester City playmaker Facundo Buonanotte has encouraged Veliz to cut short his time at Espanyol and join him at Leicester, who are currently struggling in the Premier League.

“I would tell Tanque Veliz to come here and learn from Jamie Vardy,” Buonanotte said. “He’s on loan, but now he’s at Tottenham, so I think he knows about this. During our time at Central, we formed a good partnership.”

It remains uncertain whether Espanyol will lose Veliz in January. While his departure may not be a major blow to the club, they would still need to find a replacement.
