BREAKING; Leeds United reportedly in Pole-stand to secure piroe upgrade in Leeds Swoop for £4m Sensational Tel Aviv striker who’s a BEAST on the pitch

Leeds United capitalized on Sheffield United’s 2-0 defeat to Burnley earlier in the day by securing a 2-0 victory over Stoke City away on Boxing Day.

This result has propelled Leeds to the top of the Championship table, ahead of Sheffield United on goal difference, and they could start the new year in first place if they win their next match.

Having lost only three of their 23 league games this season, Leeds are well on track to achieve automatic promotion back to the Premier League, after finishing third last season.

The West Yorkshire side earned the three points thanks to a brace from Joel Piroe, who scored on either side of half-time.

Piroe was selected ahead of Mateo Joseph and Patrick Bamford for the match, and his first goal came from a powerful strike into the top corner, following a challenge by Viktor Johansson.

His second was a header from Dan James’ perfect cross to the back post.

Piroe, a former Swansea forward, has firmly established himself as Leeds’ main number nine and continued to prove his worth with another strong performance.

In the 2023/24 season, Piroe primarily played as an attacking midfielder, with Georginio Rutter and Bamford preferred as the central striker. However, this season, he has started 12 of 13 matches in his natural striker role, and his form has thrived as a result.

Scouts have provided positive reports on Piroe’s performances, but Leeds are still assessing their options, including other potential signings. One player under consideration is Dor Turgeman, whose price tag is around £4.1m, according to Maccabi Tel Aviv manager Zarko Lazetić, who described him as “a beast on the pitch.”

Whether Leeds are willing to pay that price for him remains uncertain, but manager Daniel Farke should push for the deal to go through, as Turgeman could be a valuable addition to the squad.

Why Leeds Should Sign Dor Turgeman

Leeds should pursue the £4.1m-rated Turgeman, as he could provide an upgrade on Piroe as a central striker.

Turgeman, who has played with Manor Solomon for Israel, has had an impressive 2024/25 season and could offer more quality at the top of the pitch than the Dutchman.

He has proven his abilities on the European stage with a goal and an assist in the Europa League this season, including a strike against Real Sociedad and a key assist against Ajax. This suggests he can handle top-tier competition and would be capable of competing at the Championship level.

Turgeman’s strong performances in the Israeli Premier League and Europa League indicate that he could contribute more than Piroe.

Statistically, the two have similar goal-scoring rates, with Turgeman scoring every 2.4 games compared to Piroe’s 2.5. However, Turgeman has created twice as many “big chances” in fewer appearances, showing he could add more to the team’s attack.

Additionally, Turgeman excels in aerial duels, which would give him a stronger physical presence in the striker role. This would make him better suited to Leeds’ long-term plans, especially if they return to the Premier League, where physicality is crucial.

In conclusion, Turgeman could be a more well-rounded option, offering a similar goal-scoring threat to Piroe while providing additional creativity and physicality. Therefore, Farke should strongly advocate for Leeds to secure his signature.
