CONTROVERSIAL”- FA investigation mooted after what Leeds United fans did recently
Leeds United will only face an investigation from The FA regarding fans singing anti-Palestine songs if the incidents are reported, according to Keith Hackett.
The club has condemned its supporters after chants referencing Palestine were heard during their 2-0 victory over Stoke on December 26, specifically targeting Manor Solomon [iNews].
Hackett, a former FIFA referee and ex-PGMOL chief, noted that the situation will likely be addressed through correspondence between the club and the governing body. “If this issue is reported to The FA, it will be investigated,” he stated. “It’s the responsibility of the home club to ensure their security measures can effectively handle such situations.”
He added that while Leeds United fans are known for their passion, this behavior crosses a line and has no place in a football stadium. Fans should feel free to express their opinions about players, whether positive or negative, but this particular instance is excessive and could lead to repercussions for the club.
