“All i would say is that….”- Pardew sends Leeds United warning despite Victory against Derby
Alan Pardew has cautioned Leeds United that they face “tough competition” in their bid to secure promotion back to the Premier League.
Leeds will finish 2024 at the top of the Championship after a 1-0 win over Derby County on Sunday, December 29, with promotion now within reach.
Brenden Aaronson played a key role in the victory and will continue to be a crucial part of Leeds’ push for a Premier League return. Pardew spoke about the competition on talkSPORT (December 29, 7:45 pm), saying, “There’s some tough competition out there. Sheffield United and Burnley, both Premier League teams, and Sunderland are also in the mix.
It looks like a four-horse race to me. Two will go up automatically, and two will make the play-offs.”
However, Pardew also expressed a belief in Leeds’ chances, saying, “I’ve just got a feeling for them this year. I hope they make it.”
Leeds United will be aware of the stiff competition they face in the Championship, but the key will be focusing on their own results. If they continue to perform well, the positions of the other teams won’t matter.
Though Leeds have had a strong campaign with some occasional setbacks, maintaining consistency will be essential for their Premier League return.
