Philippe Clement expressed that he wasn’t worried about his immediate future at Rangers, despite his team trailing Celtic by 14 points in the title race.
Following a defeat to St Mirren on Boxing Day, Rangers delivered a poor first-half display at Motherwell, leaving their players jeered off the pitch after going two goals down.
Although a brace from substitute Hamza Igamane helped avoid another defeat, two more dropped points saw the gap to Celtic grow ahead of Thursday’s Old Firm match.
Clement insisted he wasn’t concerned about the board losing confidence in him after the recent setback, stating, “No, I’m not worried about that because my focus is solely on the team. We knew from the start of the season what the project was and how challenging it would be.
“It’s hard to talk about it because people outside might not understand. However, there has been progress made. The last two games haven’t reflected that, and we’ve hurt ourselves in that regard, but there have been positive performances in recent weeks where the team showed potential.”
