SHOCKING NEWS! Another Leeds United star set to make jaw-dropping move to Ipswich Town alongside Kalvin Phillips – Southampton also in the mix for sensational transfer deal

SHOCKING NEWS! Another Leeds United star set to make jaw-dropping move to Ipswich Town alongside Kalvin Phillips – Southampton also in the mix for sensational transfer deal

Ipswich Town secured Kalvin Phillips on loan during the summer transfer window, despite speculation that Leeds United was keen on bringing him back to Elland Road. Now, the Tractor Boys could be set to snatch another potential transfer target from Daniel Farke’s side.

Phillips has had a challenging time at Ipswich Town so far this season after his loan move from Manchester City in the summer. There were rumors suggesting Leeds was interested in re-signing the 29-year-old, but Phillips later hinted that he preferred to stay in the Premier League, with Leeds ultimately losing the Championship play-off final to Southampton.

Despite this, Leeds remain at the top of the Championship following a 1-1 draw with Blackburn Rovers on New Year’s Day, and they will face Hull City on Saturday afternoon.

As the January transfer window opens, rumors are swirling about potential signings for Leeds. One such player linked to Elland Road is Ben Godfrey.

Ipswich Town ‘in talks’ over Ben Godfrey move Leeds United has been linked with Godfrey, who joined Atalanta in the summer from Everton for £10 million but has only made one Serie A appearance. It seems clear that Farke is eager to strengthen his defense in January, with Godfrey being one of many players mentioned.

However, a move for Godfrey now looks increasingly unlikely. While Tottenham has shown the most interest in him, it’s been reported that Ipswich Town are currently in talks to sign Godfrey on loan from Atalanta.

Journalist Fabrizio Romano shared the news on X, stating: “Ipswich Town are in talks to sign Ben Godfrey on loan from Atalanta! Negotiations are underway for the centre-back, who is available this transfer window.”

Why Leeds United may miss out on Ben Godfrey The primary reason Godfrey might prefer playing in the Premier League over the Championship is clear, but talkSPORT journalist Alex Crook has suggested a deeper motivation for Godfrey’s potential move to Ipswich. Crook revealed on X that while eight clubs are interested in Godfrey, he is particularly keen to work with Ipswich manager Kieran McKenna.
