He continued, acknowledging that the process is delicate and requires time and effort to secure the right additions: “It’s a process that takes time. We’ve been discussing the types of players we need with the recruitment team, and it all started in December. Hopefully, we can present something soon.”

For Leicester to maintain their Premier League status, their January transfer business will be critical. The club’s struggles in the 2022/23 season were partly due to unsuccessful winter signings like Tete, Harry Souttar, and Viktor Kristiansen, which ultimately led to their relegation.
Van Nistelrooy echoed the importance of getting it right this time: “It’s crucial given the situation we’re in. We need to do better. It’s about developing the current players, but also bringing in those who fit the team and can improve the club in the long run. If we find those players, we have to act on it.”
