“Horrible”- David Edgar can’t believe ‘Horrible’ Rangers v St Johnstone blunder he saw

David Edgar was left stunned by the “horrible” mistake made by St Johnstone in their Scottish Premiership match against Rangers on Sunday.

Saints defender Jack Sanders attempted to clear a cross from Vaclav Cerny, but instead, he inadvertently directed the ball to Mohammed Diomande, who headed it into the net.

Rangers went on to win 3-1, reducing their gap to Celtic to 15 points.

“3-0! Horrible blunder by the St Johnstone defender who tries to clear a Cerny cross which was going out of play, but ends up heading it perfectly for Dio who scores,” Edgar commented on his personal X account (12 January).

Despite the dominant scoreline, Rangers fans may not be entirely satisfied with the result. While a 3-0 lead within the first 25 minutes might normally spark celebration, the ongoing uncertainty about Philippe Clement’s future could leave fans frustrated. Many have called for the Belgian manager’s dismissal due to the team’s disappointing performance under his leadership.

Just when it seemed like Clement’s position might be in jeopardy, his side secured a win against a weaker opponent, similar to their victory over St Johnstone on 12 January. As a result, it appears the former Club Brugge boss may retain his job for now, but if Rangers hope to make a mark in the Europa League or Cup, changes may soon be necessary.

In other Rangers news, David Edgar criticized a first-team player for his performance in the team’s recent Scottish Premiership clash against Dundee.
