Done Deal: Wolves reportedly ‘complete’ the Signing of Sensational £23m Top Striker in blow to Everton and Ipswich Town
Wolverhampton Wanderers are poised to finalize the permanent signing of highly regarded striker Jorgen Strand Larsen.
After meeting the required number of appearances to trigger a purchase clause, Wolves will complete the transfer of Strand Larsen, with the club ready to pay the £23 million fee to secure his move permanently.
Initially brought in on a season-long loan from Spanish side Celta Vigo for £2.5 million, the 24-year-old has made 20 Premier League appearances and two in cup competitions, activating the clause for a permanent transfer.
The Norway international, with 19 caps, has contributed seven goals and three assists across all competitions so far. According to Birmingham World, Strand Larsen is set to sign a new contract keeping him at Wolves until June 2029.
A versatile attacker, Strand Larsen can play as a central striker or on either wing. His strong hold-up play, combined with his dribbling ability, has made him an asset for Wolves, particularly in his partnership with star Matheus Cunha, despite the team’s struggles this season.
Wolves’ new manager Vitor Pereira did rest Strand Larsen for one match against Tottenham Hotspur, but this was to prevent injury after a series of consecutive starts. The 24-year-old is expected to become Wolves’ primary striker for the long term.
Strand Larsen’s permanent move represents a blow to other Premier League clubs, including Everton and Ipswich Town, who had been monitoring his situation. With Celta Vigo unable to recall him before the deal is finalized, he will be available to help Wolves fight to retain their Premier League status.
