“Forget about Beundia, this is someone who would be absolutely ideal for Leeds”- Speaking to LeedsLive (17 January), Stephen Warnock urged Daniel Farke to Break the Bank to secure the signature an “IDEAL” Star for Leeds United in the winter transfer window
Stephen Warnock believes Emi Buendia would be an “ideal” signing for Leeds United during the winter transfer window.
The former left-back thinks the Aston Villa midfielder would be a perfect addition to the Whites before the February 3 deadline, given his current situation at Villa Park.
Buendia has struggled to secure regular playing time this season, and Warnock suggests that Leeds would benefit from a loan move for the out-of-favour Villa playmaker, which would suit all parties.
Speaking to LeedsLive on January 17, Warnock said: “In an ideal world, you’d look at someone like Emi Buendia at Villa, who isn’t getting the game time he needs and could use half a season to regain his confidence. He would be absolutely ideal for Leeds.”
Emi Buendia transfer to strengthen Leeds United’s promotion bid Daniel Farke’s team is currently leading the Championship, one point ahead of Burnley and Sheffield United.
Leeds are favorites for automatic promotion this season, and adding Buendia would significantly boost their chances.
The Argentine enjoyed success in the Championship with Norwich City before moving to Villa in the summer of 2021. His experience could be invaluable to Leeds as they aim to return to the Premier League.
Although Buendia’s influence at Villa Park has diminished under Unai Emery due to fitness concerns, a move to Elland Road could help revive his career.
Brenden Aaronson has been solid for Leeds in the number 10 role this season, but the team could benefit from added competition in that position.
With Leeds having faced fitness issues themselves, bringing in Buendia on a temporary basis seems like a sensible option.
Will the transfer happen? Only time will tell.
In other Leeds United news, a transfer twist has surfaced regarding Joe Gelhardt after recent discussions.
