Earlier this month, Everton parted ways with Sean Dyche and swiftly turned to David Moyes, who had been a free agent since leaving West Ham United.
Moyes aims to stabilize the team at Everton, but his second stint began with a loss to Aston Villa earlier this week.
Moyes’ next challenge comes this weekend as he faces Tottenham, with Postecoglou’s Spurs hosting Everton.
Postecoglou welcomed Moyes’ return, joking that it means he’s no longer the oldest Premier League manager, while reminiscing about how the Scottish manager had reached out to him when Postecoglou was in charge of Celtic.
“Delighted to see David back because I’m not the oldest anymore! Just need to get Roy [Hodgson] back now,” Postecoglou said in a press conference about the Everton manager.
“David is a great guy, though. He reached out to me when I was at Celtic.”
Postecoglou’s success at Celtic, where he achieved great results, would have no doubt pleased Moyes, who started his playing career with the Glasgow club.
