“How could a player like him go Off at the pitch for common Bournemouth”- “Joe Cole Slams Newcastle Star for ‘Off’ Performance in Bournemouth Nightmare

Newcastle United’s unbeaten run came to a crashing halt on Saturday as they suffered a heavy 4-1 defeat to a strong Bournemouth side at St James’ Park.

The result ended their record-equalling streak of nine consecutive victories, and while Eddie Howe’s team was sloppy throughout, Bournemouth thoroughly dominated the match and could have easily scored more than the four goals they managed. The Cherries even had one goal ruled out by VAR.

It was a tough day for Newcastle, with key players like Alexander Isak and Anthony Gordon struggling against a relentless Bournemouth attack. However, it wasn’t just the forwards who underperformed. TNT Sports pundit Joe Cole singled out defender Lewis Hall for criticism.

Joe Cole Criticizes Lewis Hall’s Performance

Despite his solid season, Hall was below his usual standard, particularly when facing Bournemouth’s pressing game. According to SofaScore statistics, the 20-year-old lost possession 10 times before being substituted for Kieran Trippier in the 62nd minute. Though Hall did deliver the corner from which Bruno Guimaraes scored, his overall performance fell short.

During TNT Sports’ live coverage, Cole remarked: “Lewis Hall has been a little bit off it today.”

Lewis Hall Reminded of His Potential

While this season has largely been a breakthrough for Hall, with many surprised by Chelsea’s decision to sell him, Saturday’s performance was a reminder that he is still developing at just 20 years old. Despite the setback, it’s clear that Hall has the potential to be a key figure for Newcastle in the future.

Bournemouth’s performance was outstanding, and they deserved their victory, but Newcastle’s sloppy display certainly contributed to their downfall.
