Deal being Finalised”- Rangers set to strike deal in move described as ‘transfer that shook Europe’

Rangers have made their first signing of the January transfer window, but it seems there may also be some outgoings on the horizon.

Cyriel Dessers, who started today’s cup match against Fraserburgh, is reportedly a target for Cagliari and could soon be leaving. The Gers striker has also attracted interest from Saint-Étienne, Atlanta United, and Empoli.

Meanwhile, Rabbi Matondo and Kieran Dowell have been informed they are free to leave Ibrox, with clubs from both England and Italy showing interest in Matondo.

Most recently, the possibility of Tom Lawrence’s departure has emerged, with Besiktas reportedly keen on signing the midfielder. Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, who has just taken over at the Turkish club, worked with Lawrence during their time at Manchester United, and according to Fabrizio Romano, he is eager to reunite with the player.

Lawrence, whose contract expires in the summer, has struggled with injuries and may find it difficult to regain a spot in the Rangers lineup, making a move seem beneficial for all parties.

Turkish outlet Superhaber has claimed that Lawrence will become Solskjaer’s first signing, with the deal expected to be finalized soon. They’ve even described the move as having “caused a great stir in European football,” dubbing it the “transfer that shook Europe.”

When asked about potential departures, Rangers manager Philippe Clement commented, “I never speak about individual cases and names in that way. It’s always in the transfer window. It’s about the right price for every player. It needs to be a win-win for everybody. We will see what’s going to happen next week.”
