I’m sorry”- BBC Pundit slams Rangers Ace after “INCREDIBLE” first half moments Vs Fraserburgh

James McFadden was left in disbelief when Cyriel Dessers missed a clear opportunity to score in the first half of Sunday’s Scottish Cup match between Rangers and Fraserburgh.

With the two teams battling it out at Ibrox, the striker, who has been linked with a potential exit, had a golden chance to ease any early pressure. However, his attempt to score from just a few meters out was poorly mishit.

At 30 years old and having netted seven goals in the Scottish Premiership this season, Dessers has recently been replaced in the starting lineup by Hamza Igamane. His lack of sharpness was evident in the missed chance.

That said, Dessers made amends by scoring from a corner in the 27th minute.

Speaking live on BBC Scotland (19 January, 2:23pm), McFadden remarked: “It’s a great pass from Bajrami, who picks out McCausland’s run. McCausland does really well on the half-volley, and I’m sorry, that ball has to hit the back of the net.

“From that position, it could have gone out for a throw-in, which is just incredible. That miss really sums up Cyriel Dessers’ time at Rangers.”

Dessers, who has started only one of his last 14 appearances, has seen Philippe Clement favor Igamane as the preferred striker after the latter’s impressive form. Despite scoring his seventh league goal in a cameo against Aberdeen last week, Dessers’ overall performances have been disappointing since his arrival.

Igamane has already outperformed the veteran striker, leaving fans hoping that Rangers will find a way to offload him before the transfer window closes on February 3.

Dessers’ glaring miss against Fraserburgh only highlighted his ongoing struggles, despite his goal just minutes after coming on against Aberdeen. Fans are growing increasingly frustrated, even as Dessers now mostly serves as a substitute. Nils Koppen should take note of this growing discontent.

In other Rangers news, here’s how Philippe Clement might line up once the transfer window shuts.
