“This is a must-win game for them”- Paul Merson and Chris Sutton Shock Fans with Identical Bold Score Prediction for Chelsea vs Wolves

Paul Merson and Chris Sutton have both predicted the same scoreline for Chelsea’s Premier League match against Wolves on Monday night.

Chelsea showed promise in the first half against Bournemouth on Tuesday but squandered several key chances. Reece James’ late free-kick earned a point, as the match ended 2-2, meaning Chelsea’s last league win (2-1 vs Brentford) came over a month ago, on December 15. Now, Chelsea will be eager to get back to winning ways against Wolves. Here’s what Merson, the Arsenal legend, and Sutton, the former Chelsea striker, have to say about the match.

Paul Merson and Chris Sutton Predict Chelsea vs Wolves Result
Paul Merson believes Chelsea will be “easy winners” against Wolves, despite their recent struggles.

“I’ll be at Stamford Bridge to watch the game on Monday night, and I can’t see anything but a win for Chelsea,” he said, via Sportskeeda.

“Moreso because Wolves have reverted to their previous form. They had a brief strong run, but that has now come to an end. If Chelsea play anywhere near as well as they did in the first half against Bournemouth, they’ll win easily.”

He added, “This is a must-win for Chelsea. Six weeks ago, I thought they were in the title race, but they’ve messed up in several winnable games. If they drop points again, their top-four spot could be in jeopardy. I’m going for 3-0.”

Chris Sutton, who played for Chelsea during the 1999-2000 season, also predicts a comfortable victory for his former team.

“Chelsea may not be in the best form, but they’re going to click at some point. And when they do, they’ll wipe the floor with Wolves,” he told BBC Sport.

“Chelsea should win easily, while Wolves have a lot of work ahead of them to escape the relegation battle. They’re still deep in that fight.”

Chelsea Can Overtake Newcastle with Win Against Wolves
As Merson noted, Chelsea were in the title race not long ago, with several “winnable” games on the horizon. However, after failing to win any of their last five league matches, including losses to Ipswich Town and Fulham, Chelsea’s title hopes have faded.

With those results, the Blues can now forget about challenging for the title. Furthermore, securing a Champions League spot is not guaranteed.

Newcastle have moved ahead of Chelsea with a strong run of form, but after their defeat to Bournemouth on Saturday, Chelsea now have a chance to reclaim fourth place with a win against Wolves.
