Tottenham Hotspur’s 2-1 loss to Leicester City at home is arguably one of their lowest points of the season under Ange Postecoglou.
Despite taking the lead through Richarlison, Spurs were unable to hold on, or even secure a point, against Leicester.
As has often been the case this season, Tottenham were vulnerable in midfield, and Leicester capitalized on their weaknesses, now hoping to close the gap on Spurs in their fight to stay in the Premier League.
Following the defeat, Spurs are now only seven points ahead of Leicester, and just one point clear of the relegation zone.
While some still hold out hope that things will improve once Postecoglou’s preferred lineup is fit, the situation is becoming increasingly worrying.
Jamie O’Hara Calls for Postecoglou and Levy to Go
In their last 10 Premier League games, Spurs have lost eight times, with just one win and one draw—form more typical of a team heading for relegation.
After the match, former Tottenham player Jamie O’Hara shared his thoughts on X, expressing his frustration.
Spurs fans booed Postecoglou for his second-half substitutions against Leicester, and O’Hara, after watching the defeat, called for both Postecoglou and Daniel Levy to leave, saying he was “done” with them. He wrote, “Omg what a joke, get Ange out, get Levy out, absolute joke the lot of them.”
Before the loss to Leicester, Levy was backing Postecoglou to turn things around, but questions now loom over how much longer that support will last. As O’Hara pointed out, frustration with Levy is also growing among fans, creating a difficult situation for the club.
Tottenham Can’t Keep Using Injuries as an Excuse
Jamie Vardy mocked Tottenham after scoring Leicester’s equalizer, a moment that added to Spurs’ misery. While Tottenham can point to the significant number of injuries affecting their squad, many believe the level of performance is still unacceptable.
Their injury crisis is being compared to that of Bournemouth under Andoni Iraola, who, despite a similar injury list, have managed to deliver impressive performances and results.
Meanwhile, Spurs seem to be becoming easier to beat week after week, with no clear solution from Postecoglou to reverse the slide.
Although many Tottenham supporters still don’t place the blame on Postecoglou and look at the broader issues at the club, it’s evident that something needs to change at N17.
