‘Outrageous’… Jamie O’Hara makes honest Leicester City admission after shock Tottenham win
Leicester City ended their losing streak on Sunday afternoon with a 2-1 victory over Tottenham Hotspur.
The Foxes had been in poor form under manager Ruud van Nistelrooy, having lost seven consecutive Premier League matches since a 2-2 draw with Brighton & Hove Albion in December.
However, the win saw Leicester climb out of the relegation zone, moving up to 17th in the Premier League.
Jamie Vardy played a pivotal role in the victory, ending his goal drought and securing the crucial win for Leicester, lifting them out of the bottom three.
Van Nistelrooy praised Vardy for his performance in the upset, which left Tottenham still searching for answers to their ongoing struggles.
Jamie O’Hara shared his thoughts on the result while speaking to talkSPORT on January 27th. He acknowledged that Leicester deserved the three points but noted that such a statement was “outrageous” given their recent form. He said, “Some of the football we were playing was awful. Leicester deserved the win, and to say that after seven losses in a row is outrageous.”
Gary Lineker and Alan Shearer also weighed in on the game, highlighting Leicester’s continued reliance on Vardy, now 38, and nearing the end of his contract. Shearer commented, “Leicester are relying on a 38-year-old centre forward to get them through games, and he’s one of their best players.”
Lineker added, “It’s tough for him to play every game at that age. [Patson] Daka hasn’t quite delivered at the top level, so Leicester’s reliance on Vardy—and any injury to him—would be a major concern.”
Leicester are keen to sign a striker this month, but with time running out, they face challenges in securing a suitable replacement, especially with Odsonne Edouard still at the club.
