Tottenham Hotspur are ramping up efforts to sign Bayern Munich forward Mathys Tel as they look to strengthen their attacking options.

According to L’Equipe, Spurs have agreed on a €60 million deal with Bayern and aim to finalize the transfer soon.

However, the former Rennes player has yet to make his decision, with Arsenal, Chelsea, and Manchester United still in pursuit of his signature.

With Tottenham’s Premier League form faltering, manager Ange Postecoglou is in urgent need of reinforcements. Spurs have gone seven games without a win in the league, with just one victory in their last ten matches, leaving them in 15th place.

Injuries have plagued the Tottenham squad this season, prompting the club to take decisive action in the January transfer window.

Signing Tel would be a significant move, injecting dynamism and versatility into their attack. The 19-year-old French forward is known for his speed, energy, and fierce playing style.

Tel has the potential to be a long-term successor to Son Heung-min, capable of playing both on the left wing and as a central striker. While his finishing may not yet match that of Tottenham’s captain, his technical ability and attacking instincts make him an exciting prospect who could thrive under Postecoglou’s guidance.

Tottenham must act swiftly to secure Tel, especially as Premier League rivals are also vying for him, and consider adding another forward to bolster their attacking depth.

With Dominic Solanke out for six weeks, Spurs need additional firepower to complement Richarlison. Tel, alongside Brighton’s Evan Ferguson, could provide that, arriving with a strong desire to prove themselves and potentially forming a powerful partnership in North London.

Tottenham must do everything possible to fend off competition for Tel and convince him to make the move to London, while also keeping their focus on Ferguson.
