Everton have reportedly had a £10 million bid for West Brom’s Tom Fellows accepted, but this has been dismissed as “nonsense” by BBC journalist Steve Hermon.
The Toffees are said to have made a deadline-day offer for the 21-year-old winger, with plans for him to undergo a medical in Merseyside. However, Hermon has cast doubt on these claims, noting that West Brom previously rejected a similar bid from Southampton last summer.
On February 3, Hermon wrote on X: “Reports that West Brom have accepted a £10m bid from Everton for Tom Fellows are nonsense. The club turned down that figure from Southampton last summer, so why would they accept that now?”
After a quiet transfer window, Everton are eager to be active on deadline day, with Carlos Alcaraz expected to be their first signing, reportedly moving from Flamengo. While Fellows could potentially join, conflicting reports from Goodison Park suggest the deal is unlikely to happen.
That would be a disappointment for David Moyes and his team, especially considering Fellows’ impressive form this season. The England Under-21 international has scored twice and provided ten assists in just 26 Championship appearances, which is a strong return for a 21-year-old.
If the deal goes through, Fellows could provide valuable support for Dwight McNeil during his time on the sidelines. However, it remains to be seen whether the reports of a completed transfer are accurate.
