Gomes’ display was part of a growing pattern of solid performances, as he has been a consistent force in defense since Vitor Pereira took charge. With four clean sheets in his last four starts, Gomes is making a strong case for retaining his first-team place as Wolves face more crucial league matches in February.
A Balanced Approach Under Pereira Since Pereira’s arrival, Wolves have found a better balance between exciting attacking football and disciplined defending, a contrast to the style under former manager Gary O’Neil. Cunha remains in superb form, while players like Gomes continue to shine at the back.
