Postecoglou has faced mounting pressure for several months, and recent reports suggest that Tottenham may already have a potential replacement in mind.

A recent report from TEAMtalk suggests that the upcoming match against Manchester United could be pivotal for Postecoglou’s future. If Spurs lose again, the club reportedly has three potential candidates lined up to take over.
The first two are former Borussia Dortmund manager Edin Terzić and Brentford’s Thomas Frank. However, the most exciting and intriguing option seems to be Andoni Iraola, currently at Bournemouth.
While securing Iraola mid-season would be difficult due to his commitment to Bournemouth, Spurs could look to bring him in during the summer.
Why Iraola Would Be a Great Appointment
There are several reasons why Iraola would be an excellent choice for Spurs. Perhaps the most significant is his track record of exceeding expectations.
Iraola’s managerial journey began with a remarkable achievement at Cypriot side AEK Larnaca, leading them to the Europa League group stage for the second time in the club’s history.
In Spain, he guided Mirandés to a surprise semi-final run in the Copa del Rey, and he took Rayo Vallecano from Spain’s second division to a solid midtable finish in La Liga.
Since moving to Bournemouth, Iraola has done wonders, transforming the Cherries from relegation candidates into a team pushing for European football.
Under his leadership, they’ve beaten top teams such as Arsenal, Manchester City, Manchester United, Nottingham Forest, and even Spurs.
Respected football analyst Ben Mattinson has called Iraola “one of the best in the league,” and his results back that up.
In 24 league games this season, Iraola has achieved 11 wins, seven draws, and six losses, averaging 1.67 points per game. In comparison, Postecoglou’s Tottenham has only earned 1.13 points per game, with eight wins, three draws, and 13 losses from 24 league games this season.
While it would be difficult to lure Iraola away from Bournemouth before the summer, Spurs remain a prestigious club, and if they push hard enough, there’s every chance they could secure his services.
