With the 49ers eyeing potential summer transfer targets in the event of promotion, former Chelsea and England forward Abraham is a player who could be on the move, and Leeds are keen to be part of the race for his signature.
Leeds Eyeing Move for Abraham
Abraham, who is currently on loan at AC Milan from Roma, has spent several years in Serie A, but his future in Italy looks uncertain, with a return to the Premier League a strong possibility.
Described as ‘outstanding’ by Henry Winter, Abraham has consistently impressed with his goalscoring record and Leeds are aware of the need for a reliable striker if they are to secure their Premier League spot next season.
The 27-year-old is eager to return to the England setup under Thomas Tuchel ahead of the 2026 World Cup, and a permanent move to Milan appears unlikely due to his high wages and the club’s recent investment in new striker Santiago Gimenez.
Leeds are expected to part ways with Patrick Bamford in the summer, as Daniel Farke has struggled to rely on him, with Wrexham reportedly eyeing him as a potential signing.
This would leave Leeds with only Joel Piroe and Mateo Joseph as their striker options—both of whom lack Premier League experience.
Although Abraham’s price tag is expected to be high, having cost Roma £34 million in 2021, his contract with the Italian club runs until 2027, which could make him available for a more reasonable fee.
