Leeds United and Daniel Farke will not approve of what the EFL have announced ahead of the Sheffield United clash

The EFL has not been particularly favorable to Leeds United during this crucial time of the season, and the situation continues to worsen.

Some Leeds fans may feel the recent developments are part of an agenda, especially following recent announcements.

Originally, Sheffield United fan Craig Pawson was set to referee Leeds’ match, but in a last-minute change, Stuart Atwell took over.

While this seemed like an improvement, the appointment of Atwell might have been even worse, as Neil Warnock expressed his frustration after Daniel Farke received a booking.

Now, with Farke set to miss the dugout against Sheffield United on Monday, another announcement has added to Leeds’ concerns.

David Webb to Referee Sheffield United vs Leeds United

Following the confusion over Pawson and Atwell, one might assume the debate over refereeing appointments would settle.

However, David Webb has been chosen to officiate one of the Championship’s most important games when Sheffield United hosts Leeds at Bramall Lane.

With another Monday night fixture, Leeds’ fans feel aggrieved, especially since they won’t play a 3pm match until March 29.

While Webb’s appointment may not seem like a disaster, it’s clear that Farke is already unhappy with the referee.

Leeds and Farke’s Discontent with Webb’s Appointment

After Leeds’ victory over Sunderland, Farke is likely hoping to avoid any further refereeing mistakes. Atwell’s decision to deny Leeds a clear penalty caused an uproar, which Farke would have likely held against him—had the Whites not won.

However, Farke made no exceptions for Webb during Leeds’ match against Sheffield Wednesday.

Despite Leeds winning 3-0, Farke was visibly frustrated with Webb’s decisions. Throughout the match, Farke appeared stunned at some calls, at one point holding his head in his hands.

Certain challenges were overlooked, while others were penalized—often to Leeds’ disadvantage in the first half. Farke’s exasperation was evident, and he hasn’t been as animated in any match since.

Leeds now face yet another challenge, and Farke will be hoping his team can take a significant step toward Premier League promotion when they face Sheffield United on Monday.
