“Worst than Meslier, what a FLOP! his time at Elland Road has to come to an end, Daniel Farke must DROP him immediately to avoid Disaster”- Leeds United Boss Urged to DROP ‘Anonymous’ Dud who was saved by Tanaka after SHAMBOLIC performance against Sheffield United”

Leeds United extended their lead to seven points over third-placed Burnley in the Championship after completing another impressive comeback, defeating Sheffield United 3-1 at Bramall Lane.

Despite being 1-0 down at halftime due to an own goal from Illan Meslier, Leeds battled back in the second half, scoring three goals, two of which came in the final minutes of normal time.

Junior Firpo, Ao Tanaka, and Joel Piroe delivered the crucial goals, edging Leeds closer to automatic promotion to the Premier League.

The win also secured a league double over Sheffield United, after a 2-0 victory at Elland Road earlier this season, and moved Leeds five points clear at the top. Manager Daniel Farke now seeks his third title at this level.

Leeds’ Match-Winners Against Sheffield United

After Firpo’s stunning header equalized in the 72nd minute, both teams had ample time to claim victory.

However, it was Leeds who maintained control, creating chances and taking the lead in the 88th minute.

Firpo flicked the ball to Tanaka, whose brilliant header eluded Sheffield United’s defenders, sparking jubilant scenes from the away fans.

A minute later, Piroe sealed the victory with a powerful 20-yard shot that beat goalkeeper Michael Cooper, who may feel he should have done better.

Piroe’s strike took him level with Norwich City’s Borja Sainz as the Championship’s top scorer, underscoring his clinical form.

Meslier’s Shaky Performance

While Leeds celebrated the victory, Meslier’s performance raised concerns.

The French goalkeeper struggled in the first half, fumbling several crosses and being punished when he inadvertently diverted a header into his own net after it hit the post.

Despite these errors, Meslier redeemed himself with four saves and won all three aerial duels.

Although he kept a clean sheet in the second half, his overall performance, including his mishandling of crosses, indicated areas for improvement.

Despite recording 20 clean sheets this season, Meslier’s stats suggest he has slightly underperformed as a shot-stopper.

The Case for Dropping Brenden Aaronson

Brenden Aaronson’s performance against Sheffield United was far from impressive, making a strong case for his potential exclusion from the starting lineup.

The American international, playing in the number ten role, failed to make an impact, with no shots on goal or key passes in his 58 minutes on the pitch. He also lost five out of seven duels, leaving Leeds trailing when he was substituted.

Aaronson, who had a tough time in the Premier League with Leeds last season, has struggled against top sides in the Championship, failing to contribute in nine matches against teams currently in the top six.

Despite eight goals and two assists this season, his lack of impact against strong opponents raises doubts about his ability to perform at the Premier League level.

If Leeds secures promotion, Farke may need to consider leaving Aaronson out of the Premier League squad, as it appears he is not yet ready for the step up.
