21x possession lost with 1 error leading to goal absolutely poor performance”- One Wolves star has his priorities all wrong as glaring issue arises from Fulham defeat

Vitor Pereira was left frustrated with his team’s performance against Fulham after Wolves conceded two avoidable goals.

The Molineux crowd was stunned when Fulham scored just 58 seconds into the match and then netted the winner just two minutes into the second half.

Although Joao Gomes pulled one back for Wolves to level the score at halftime, they ultimately lost 2-1, conceding almost immediately after both the first and second half whistles.

Pereira now faces a tough task ahead, with an eye on the results of Leicester City and Ipswich Town in match week 27.

Nelson Semedo’s Poor Display Against Fulham

Several Wolves players struggled in the defeat, with goalkeeper Jose Sa receiving heavy criticism for his role in Fulham’s winning goal. However, Sa wasn’t the only one underperforming on the night.

Despite being a regular in Pereira’s plans, captain Nelson Semedo had an off night at Molineux.

The 31-year-old contributed going forward, providing an assist and creating three key passes, but his defensive work was lacking.

Semedo’s failure to track Ryan Sessegnon’s run directly led to Fulham’s second goal. This highlighted the need for the right-back to better balance his attacking duties with his responsibilities at the back.

Fullbacks Need Better Balance

The issue of balancing offensive and defensive duties isn’t new for Wolves.

Left-back Rayan Ait-Nouri had already come under fire earlier in the season for his defensive shortcomings, and Semedo’s display against Fulham showed similar vulnerabilities.

While both fullbacks are essential to Wolves’ build-up play, they’ve also been liabilities in transition, with numerous instances this season where both Semedo and Ait-Nouri have lost possession cheaply or failed to track the opposition effectively.

Pereira is already working on improving Ait-Nouri’s defensive game, and after the Fulham defeat, he may need to focus on Semedo’s defensive responsibilities as well.
