Leeds United were held to a 1-1 draw by a determined West Brom side in the Championship.
Junior Firpo opened the scoring for Leeds inside the first nine minutes at Elland Road on Saturday (1 March), finishing off a delightful delivery from Dan James.
However, West Brom responded in the 39th minute, with Darnell Furlong equalizing from a header off a free kick.
The result was disappointing for Daniel Farke, as Leeds struggled to find their attacking rhythm. Despite that, the draw still leaves the Whites in a strong position for automatic promotion to the Premier League.

Illan Meslier – 5
Made a vital intervention around the 30-minute mark to thwart Adam Armstrong but had little to do otherwise.
Junior Firpo – 6
Scored again but should have had a second when he opted to cross instead of shooting in the second half. Defensively, he was caught out a few times, making for a mixed performance.
Pascal Struijk – 6
Defensively solid but still has room for improvement in his overall performance.
Joe Rodon – 7
Defended well throughout, making a crucial tackle late in the game to deny Tom Fellows a potential winner for West Brom.
Jayden Bogle – 4
Struggled defensively for West Brom’s first goal, being easily brushed aside by Furlong. Got forward on occasion but lacked impact.
Ao Tanaka – 5
Missed a big chance to extend Leeds’ lead in the first half. Otherwise, had a fairly steady game but didn’t offer much going forward and could improve defensively.
Joe Rothwell – 6
Didn’t stand out but kept things tidy in the middle, making fewer mistakes and offering a reasonable defensive presence.
Manor Solomon – 5
Had a quiet game, showing glimpses of quality but failing to produce anything substantial in the final third.
Brenden Aaronson – 3
Had a poor game with no real impact and was substituted with around 20 minutes remaining.
Daniel James – 7
Delivered a brilliant assist for Firpo’s goal and was one of the most dangerous attacking players early on. Though quieter as the game progressed, he was involved in some late chances.
Joël Piroe – 3
Was largely ineffective, offering little in the first half and disappearing in the second. His one attempt on goal was ruled offside.
Substitutes:
Mateo Joseph (On for Aaronson, 72′) – 6
Added energy to the attack and went close to scoring. Made more of an impact in his brief appearance than Aaronson did all match.
Wilfried Gnonto (On for Solomon, 79′) – 5
Had limited time to make an impact but nearly set up Piroe for a chance.
