Huge TransferBombshell; Wolves ready £21m Bid for FEARLESS Defender with ‘Outstanding Technical Quality. Could this be the next BIG Signing for the Wanderers?
Wolves are keen on signing Koni De Winter from Genoa in the upcoming summer transfer window, TEAMtalk understands, but the Premier League club faces stiff competition from a top Serie A side.
De Winter struggled to break into Juventus’ first team but has thrived during his time at Genoa. The Belgian defender joined the Serie A side on loan in the summer of 2023, with a conditional obligation for the deal to become permanent. The 22-year-old impressed last season and continues to perform well this campaign.
So far this season, De Winter has netted three goals in 15 appearances across all competitions for Genoa, primarily playing as a centre-back but also featuring as a right-back on four occasions.
TEAMtalk understands Wolves are one of the Premier League clubs closely monitoring De Winter, who, according to former Juventus boss Massimiliano Allegri, possesses “good technical quality.” Sources reveal that Wolves, currently battling relegation, have identified the defender as a key target for the summer window and are keen to keep tabs on him in the coming months.
Genoa, meanwhile, are open to selling De Winter and are reportedly seeking offers of €25 million (£21m, $27m) or more for the young talent, who, according to former teammate Leonardo Bonucci, “has no fear.”
Wolves Face Competition from Inter Milan for De Winter
Wolves will face strong competition to secure De Winter’s signature, particularly from Serie A giants Inter Milan. TEAMtalk sources confirm that Inter have reignited their interest in the Belgian and recently scouted him during Genoa’s match against Empoli. The Italian champions are impressed by De Winter’s defensive capabilities.
The young defender is reportedly open to a move either to a top Italian club or to a Premier League team this summer.
Wolves Transfer Updates: Leeds Eye Bueno, Ait-Nouri Rumors
In other Wolves news, Leeds United and Nottingham Forest are reportedly interested in signing Hugo Bueno, who has been on loan at Feyenoord this season.

After limited first-team chances at Wolves due to Rayan Ait-Nouri’s impressive form, Bueno has excelled in the Eredivisie, attracting attention from Premier League clubs.
Meanwhile, Ait-Nouri’s excellent performances have led to rumors linking him with major clubs, including Arsenal and AC Milan, ahead of the summer transfer window.
Wolves also face speculation surrounding Matheus Cunha. The Brazilian forward has been in great form this season, scoring 13 goals and providing 4 assists in 24 Premier League appearances.
Following interest from clubs like Arsenal and Aston Villa in January, there are now reports suggesting that Liverpool are also monitoring Cunha, potentially for a summer move.
