“It’s going to be a HUGEwun for them because…”- Paul Merson offers a shocking score prediction for Wolves vs Everton, backing it up with a compelling reason. You won’t believe what he has to say about Everton this time
When Matheus Cunha lost his temper against Bournemouth, Wolves fans instantly realized their season was on the brink.
Cunha was shown a red card for a violent outburst at Milos Kerkez, which ultimately contributed to Wolves’ penalty loss in the FA Cup fifth round.
This reckless act highlighted Cunha’s lack of mental fortitude for the second time this season.
Earlier, he had been sent off against Ipswich Town after an altercation with a security guard, which resulted in a two-match ban and an £80,000 fine.

His recent red card could see his current three-game suspension extended by the FA.
The 25-year-old is now set to miss crucial matches against Everton, Southampton, and West Ham. His actions have raised concerns for both interested clubs and former Arsenal striker Paul Merson.
Paul Merson Predicts Relegation for Wolves After Cunha’s Suspension
Similar to how Mohamed Salah is essential for Liverpool or Erling Haaland for Manchester City, Cunha has been the key player for Wolves — the one capable of making a decisive impact in a match.
Last weekend, Cunha scored a spectacular goal to equalize, but his meltdown shortly after overshadowed his contribution.
What is most worrying for Wolves is that Cunha has been involved in 47% of their total goal contributions this season, with 17 goal involvements in the league alone.
Given that the team has only scored 37 goals overall, fans are understandably anxious about how the team will cope without him. Merson shares these concerns.
In his column for Sportskeeda, Merson has predicted that Wolves will lose their next four games and face relegation from the Premier League.
“I can’t believe what I saw from Matheus Cunha. He’s just ruined Wolves’ chances of staying up,” Merson wrote. “The matches he’s going to miss were all winnable, and Cunha could’ve made a real difference.
I don’t see Wolves winning any of their next four games without him. His rash behavior has essentially dashed Wolves’ survival hopes.”
Merson’s Prediction for Wolves vs Everton
Merson’s prediction of four consecutive losses might seem harsh, especially with two of the games against Southampton and Ipswich, but the absence of Cunha could significantly impact Wolves’ chances.

Even without him, Wolves will likely still take points from these games, but the pressure is mounting.
Merson predicts a 2-1 victory for Everton in their upcoming clash with Wolves, while also sending a warning to clubs interested in Cunha.
“I’m backing Everton to win because Wolves are missing Cunha,” Merson said. “Any big clubs looking at Cunha will now be closely examining his disciplinary record.
This has happened multiple times this season, and it’s beginning to show a concerning pattern. At a bigger club, the pressure is much higher, and you rarely see players act like that.”
