Crystal Palace manager Oliver Glasner praised Ipswich Town for their performance, stating they deserved better results than they’ve had this season.
After a hard-fought 1-0 win at Selhurst Park, thanks to a late Ismaila Sarr goal, Glasner acknowledged that Ipswich had plenty of chances to claim victory in what was a tight and competitive match.
Ipswich’s struggle this season has been staying competitive in the Premier League, but they’ve often fallen short in converting their efforts into points, making survival harder.
Speaking after the game on the Palace website, Glasner said: “It was a tough game – just as we expected.
Ipswich made it difficult for us, and they make life tough for every team in the league. I think they’ve not had the results they deserved in recent weeks.
“We knew, especially after missing a few clear chances, that it was going to get harder.
We can’t always expect our players to perform at their best, like they did against Villa, when they were very efficient, because no team is always at their peak level.
“But from the start, I could see the effort. We created many chances, although we missed them. They also had two or three, and we needed Dean Henderson to step up in a few situations.
“It was important to stay patient because in similar games against Everton and Brentford, we made decisive mistakes and lost.
Today, we waited for the right moment and were ruthless when Sarr finished the chance to take the win.
“I’m very pleased with four consecutive wins, three in the Premier League.
It’s tough for any team to win three in a row, and this group has done it, so we can all be happy with the results and performances in recent weeks.”
With the win, Palace moved up to 11th in the table, their fourth straight victory in all competitions, while Ipswich slipped further behind Wolves in the relegation battle. Ipswich are now six points behind Wanderers, who drew 1-1 with Everton, with just ten games remaining.
