“Nottingham Forest ‘Machine’ Tops Europe in Stunning Stat – Ian Wright Calls Him Unstoppable

Nottingham Forest are having an outstanding season, with Saturday’s 1-0 victory over Manchester City standing out as arguably their most impressive result so far.

Callum Hudson-Odoi delivered when it mattered most, scoring a late goal in the 83rd minute to send the City Ground into jubilation and secure a crucial three points for Forest.

Several players impressed, but much of the credit went to Nuno Espirito Santo, whose tactical acumen was key. His side effectively neutralized City, with Forest putting on a disciplined, well-organized performance.

Club owner Evangelos Marinakis, who watched the game from his usual spot in The Peter Taylor Stand, appeared pleased with the outcome, which has raised the prospect of Champions League football for Forest next season.

Espirito Santo celebrated the victory, which provides Forest with a more comfortable lead over the defending champions, setting them up nicely for their next away match against Ipswich.

One standout performer was Ola Aina, whose exceptional display earned him praise from pundit Robbie Earle. Aina’s crucial tackle on Omar Marmoush helped set up the winning goal against City, and his overall defensive work was superb.

Recent statistics highlight Aina’s growing reputation. According to WhoScored, he has won possession in the defensive third 105 times this season—more than any other player in Europe’s top five leagues.

Aina’s performance against City exemplified his relentless work ethic. After the match, he even posted footage of Espirito Santo celebrating in the dressing room on social media.

Currently in talks with Forest over a new contract, Aina’s current form makes him deserving of a significant pay rise. At 28, he’s in the prime of his career, and Forest will need to act swiftly to avoid losing him for free in the coming years.

Aina’s stellar display helped Forest extend their lead to four points over the reigning champions, and fans will hope he can continue delivering similar performances as the season progresses.
