Former Celtic star and five-time league champion Kris Commons believes the Hoops will be at their best this weekend and is expecting a one-sided victory for Brendan Rodgers’ side at Parkhead.
Commons believes the chance to extend their lead to 19 points will be a strong motivator for Celtic as they move closer to securing the title.
He also feels that Rangers’ recent 120-minute battle against Fenerbahçe in Europe, which included a penalty shootout, will take its toll on the Gers as they face the league’s dominant team.
Speaking to PLZ Soccer, Commons explained his expectations for a fast start from Celtic: “I think Brendan has had his eye on this game for weeks and knows exactly how he wants to approach it.
After Rangers’ exhausting European effort, I expect Celtic to come out all guns blazing in the first 15-20 minutes, aiming to get two or three goals quickly, lift the crowd, and control possession.”
He added, “Rodgers won’t let his team ease off. If they have the chance to score four, five, or even more goals, they’ll keep pushing.
