Wolves have managed to secure key points despite the absence of star forward Matheus Cunha, who has been serving a suspension.
After Cunha’s red card against Bournemouth in the FA Cup, there was concern about how his absence would impact Wolves’ fight for Premier League survival.
So far, the Old Gold have handled the situation well, picking up a draw against Everton and following it up with a 2-1 victory over Southampton at St Mary’s.

His FA charge for an ‘improper manager’ incident remains unresolved, but this doesn’t seem to be a major concern for the squad.
After the win, Strand Larsen spoke to Wolves’ official website about how the team has been adjusting without Cunha’s presence on the field.
“I feel like the opportunities have still been there,” he said. “Even though he’s a great player, he’s not stopping me from scoring goals. Sometimes it’s about finding space, and that’s what we need.
He’s a fantastic player, and we absolutely would have wanted him today, but I think the guys who played did well. We did a great job as a team.”
The Norwegian forward emphasized that, while the squad may miss Cunha, they remain confident with or without him in the lineup. “He’s our best player and does amazing things with the ball, so of course, we want him back, but right now, we have to work without him.”
Strand Larsen and Cunha: Key Figures for Wolves
While Cunha is undoubtedly Wolves’ most influential forward, Strand Larsen is proving his worth.
His two goals against Southampton added to his tally for the season, showing he can step up when needed.
Despite some criticism, the Norwegian is just four goals behind Cunha in the Premier League, with both players playing pivotal roles in Wolves’ survival bid.
Looking ahead, Vitor Pereira’s challenge will be to get the two forwards working together to improve Wolves’ attacking options, with Cunha set to return in April.
